Restrictions on English Property Market Relaxed and We Are Open
Without warning, at 10pm on 13 May Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government put out a press release that pre empted or possibly replaced a verbal statement by the Minister.
It read: “From today anyone in England can move home if they follow new guidance published by Housing Secretary Robert Jenrick.
Since lockdown restrictions were implemented in March, more than 450,000 people have been unable to progress their plans to move house. All buyers and renters will now be able to complete purchases and view properties in person, while estate agents, conveyancers and removals firms can return to work while following social distancing guidelines.”
As the Government has clearly relaxed restrictions, we are committed to supporting our clients by restarting our onsite operations.
Accordingly we are bringing forward our branch openings to Monday 18 May 2020. In accordance with our internal policies, you will appreciate that we will be following our strict social distancing and safety measures to help protect all. As such our capacity will be restricted to a certain extent. However, we have staff available to conduct viewings and market appraisals both for sales and lettings. These onsite activities at properties are subject to both clients’ and tenants’ approval.
We will also be following our strict guidelines for protecting property occupants, viewers and our staff. We will also be pre?qualifying applicants as much as possible to ensure that viewing volumes are not excessive and that the applicants’ interest is genuine and serious.
We will continue to monitor the situation and are dedicated to protecting all during these very challenging times.
